Three prizes for the Peter Schmidt Group at the 2019 iF Design Awards

Three projects of the Peter Schmidt Group have won this year's iF Design Award. The newly developed Douglas logo and the brand identity for the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte were both honored in the Corporate Identity category. The Tight Deadline Kit created by the agency won a prize in the Publishing category.

The iF Design Award is one of the most internationally renowned competitions for outstanding design and has been awarded for 66 years. This year, the jurors are awarding prizes to three works by the Peter Schmidt Group. These include the newly developed Douglas logo and the brand identity for the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte (House of Bavarian History), two corporate identity projects.

As Executive Creative Director, Heidrun Angerer developed a fundamentally new look for Europe's leading beauty retailer Douglas. She noted, "The big change was immediately well received among experts. And the new appearance quickly gained acceptance among consumers as well. It was a drastic step that was absolutely necessary to make the new image and the new range of services of the brand visible."

Natascha Zödi-Schmidt, Head of the Communication Department at the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte, is also proud of the brand's new look. "With the prominent Lion and the initial B, our new corporate design for the museum and our national exhibitions is beautiful and eye-catching. The new brand guidelines provide a variety of tools that give us a fresh and modern face in both the digital and analog media worlds." The new corporate design was also well received by the public. "At the recent ITB trade fair in Berlin, the leading trade fair for the international tourism industry, we received a lot of positive feedback for our design and the was our content was presented," Zödi-Schmidt said.

The third award-winning project is the "Tight Deadline Kit" which the Peter Schmidt Group sent out as a Christmas gift in 2017. It provided clients with an "last-minute emergency rescue kit" they could use to make and pack personal gifts shortly before Christmas Eve – or at least to have a charming excuse ready.

Part of the BBDO Group Germany, the Peter Schmidt Group was founded in 1972 and is now Germany's most successful brand and design agency. Around 220 employees work in the agency's offices in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich and Tokyo. Clients include Deutsche Bahn, Linde, Henkel and Postbank. The portfolio also includes numerous customers from the fashion and beauty industry as well as cultural institutions.
